Premature Ejaculation - How to Handle the Issue?

Premature ejaculation has always been a question associated with the sexuality of men. However, the explanations for premature ejaculation lie within purely biological to purely psychological factors, with a more complex relationship between biology and psychology. Psychological factors play a very crucial role in sexual intercourse and naturally it has the capacity to worsen or precipitate premature ejaculation. At the same time premature ejaculation may have negative effect on a mans psychology and overall personality and personal relationships.

It has been found that premature ejaculation can decrease self-confidence, make men reluctant to start new relationships, or lead to concerns that a partner may seek a relationship with another man. Couples therapy can have similar emphases, either exploratory, looking into issues in the relationship that contribute to sexual issues and premature ejaculation, or it may be behavioral, examining specific techniques around ejaculatory control and arousal that are worked on directly with the couple together, which is popularly known as sex therapy.

Medications

Normally, there is no medication prescribed for the problem, however, if someone experiences premature ejaculation as the side-effect of a certain medication, it is suggested that you contact the physician who prescribed the medication and discuss medication solutions to the problem, which are easily obtained in most instances.

Self-Help

One popular method taught both in self-help books and by therapists is the "stop and start" method. A person begins masturbating (alone or with a partner) and a moment or two before ejaculation, stops. Masturbating resumes when the person has come down from his closeness to ejaculation. Again, masturbation is stopped as the man approaches ejaculation. This is done 5 or 6 times. Media Training 101: Mastering the Television Interview

As I travel around the world I always enjoy sampling the media in different countries.

Even if I don't speak Thai, Bahasa or Mandarin, watching local news services always provides a unique insight into local culture.

I was recently watching a story on a new biotech company on Channel News Asia in Singapore. The story had interviews with both the China-based CEO and biotech venture capitalists in Singapore.

One of the visual images that struck me was how professional, persuasive and powerful the Chinese CEO looked compared to the Singapore interviewees.

The simple difference was the Chinese CEO was wearing a dark suit jacket whereas the Singpore-based talent simply had on a tie and white shirt.

Attention to detail like this can make or break your image and ability to persuade others.

Here are the Top 10 Tips for TV Interviews:

1. Avoid the phrase "I think"

This phrase weakens the impact of your message and sound bite. It adds no value and should be avoided.

2. Always wear a dark jacket for business interviews

Always have on hand a dark jacket to wear for TV interviews. This will give your body shape conveying confidence, credibility and charisma.

3. Avoid white shirts without jackets

A white shirt without a jacket is going to make your head look like a pale, washed out balloon floating around the screen. Avoid this unless you have a great tan or dark complexion.

4. Lean slightly forward towards the camera

That great Western Australian-born TV communicator, artist and inventor of the wobbleboard, Rolf Harris was a master at creating intimacy with viewers by subtle changes to the angle of his head in relation to the TV camera.

Leaning forward slightly will give you more presence and intimacy, as well as making you look thinner.

5. Avoid looking directly at the camera

6. Look at the interviewer

7. Always control the background visuals

Your media message must be succinct, memorable and to the point.

9. Avoid milk, caffeine and alcohol

10. Practice

Nothing is known to improve your skills more than rehearsing, practising and then reviewing your performance.

Why He Will Leave You After Sex

It seemed like it was going so well. The first date. Then the next date. Great conversation. Just seemed like an all around nice guy. Then it happened.

You had sex.

This is a huge sign of neediness. If this comes right after the first time you have sex, a man will just believe it will only get worse. He can already see you taking him away from his hobbies, family and friends. This is a big do not do.

2. Talking about commitment. Talking about marriage, long term or any conversation that sounds like commitment at this point will drive him away. Any mention that you think he might be the one will be met by silence. If not silence, he will just agree and try to change the subject.

It is just too soon. Even if you have been talking about settling down with him for months and you have just now gotten to have sex, don't bring it up now. Timing is everything and this is just not the time.

3. Telling he was the best ever. Many women think this is a compliment. It really isn't. Most men only think this makes you sound like you have been with a lot of men.

He already knows he was good (no man thinks he was bad). To say that he was the best ever just makes it sound like empty flattery. You will NOT score points. Would you believe a guy if he told you that you were the hottest woman he had ever been with? Neither will he.

4. Not Saying Anything. This is just the opposite. You don't have to tell him he was the greatest, but you also do not have to give him the silent treatment.

Most guys really want to know that you enjoyed them and that you had a good time. When you immediately start talking about your plans for tomorrow, bills or other things, it makes the guy think that he didn't do a good job.

Mens' egos are fragile. If we don't hear some compliments we will just think that you are just too hard to please. We will not be back. Just too many other women that will stoke our ego. It is just not worth the effort.

If you have not heard from a guy after a great time together it could be because of what happened immediately after.

Don't make these mistakes. Don't talk about spending a lot of time together right away. Don't talk about the wedding plans right now. Don't tell he was the best ever. Also don't just go right into talking about things other that what just happened.

If you can avoid these mistakes you will have him calling you again and again. Be the woman the woman he can't forget, not the one that he doesn't want to remember.

Weight Machines or Free Weights?

Which is safer - using exercise equipment that stabilizes the weight for you or free weights, such as dumbbells and barbells? Would it surprise you to know that some weight machines can place a lot of stress on the discs of your vertebrae, stress which could injure your low back? Let's take a look.

Oftentimes when people join a healthclub, they are shown the weight machines, which are usually set up in a circuit where you can go from one machine to another. These people are often new to working out and sometimes a little older, as well.

The common thought is that these machines are easier and thus safer, because you don't have to stabilize and balance the weights, like you do with a dumbbell. There are a couple flaws in this thinking, however. First, pushing and pulling a weight while seated can place a lot of pressure on your discs.

Studies done in the 70's looked at different positions and how much pressure was placed on the spine. Sitting resulted in more pressure than standing. The position that resulted in the highest overall stress - sitting while holding weights. This created more pressure than standing and doing different exercises.

Think of how many healthclub exercises place you in a seated position while pushing or pulling a weight. Think of how many exercisers doing this are baby boomers and seniors, thinking that this is safer. How many of these people have probably had some previous back injury which could be irritated or reinjured?!

Makes you think that those free weights aren't so bad after all, doesn't it. This doesn't mean that these people should be attempting to pick up heavy barbells off the floor, but they should be doing more strength training on their feet.

After all, most people who need increased strength to make their activities of daily living easier, should be doing some strength or resistance training in a standing position, as this will have greater carryover to their activities.

One way of doing this, besides using dumbbells, is using weight machines with cables that allow you to push and pull while standing. This makes sure that your "core" - your abs, low back, and hips - can stabilize your spine, obviously very important to prevent back injuries.

These exercises can also be done with resistance bands, which are cheap, portable, and can be used at home, if desired. Doing strength training in this way is also more efficient as you work your midsection at the same time as you work your upper body, unless you enjoy spending more time exercising than you have to.

By the way, which gym exercise puts the most stress on the discs? The leg press. Many people load up as many weight plates as they can to strengthen their legs. But often, the pelvis comes off the support pad while lowering the weight and all that weight is going through your L5-S1 disc, enough stress to create injury at times.

I've heard therapist Paul Chek talk about more than a few bodybuilders who have blown a disc in this manner. Just keep that in mind while lifting weights - build strength without causing injury, but don't create more strength in your legs than you can stabilize with your core.
